The big cab kind of irons out that 'EL84'-ness that makes a little high gainer sound inferior and is a big equaliser for a little amp. The cabs the problem, IMO. You get a tiny little lunchbox and need to cart around a 70 pound OS 212 or a 100 pound 4x12 to make them chunky and full.
